Throughout history, the climate of the planet has shown a cyclicity, with cooling periods (glaciations) followed by periods in which the climate warmed. All these temperature variations led to the planet we have today (the different species of plants and animals, some species disappearing, new ones appeared, some of them adapted to the new conditions). I believe that the new climatic conditions can lead to an evolution of the human species, of the animal and vegetable kingdoms.

“Since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015, global efforts to combat climate change have shown significant progress. For instance, according to the latest report by the IPCC, emissions have started to plateau in some regions, indicating that our collective actions are having an impact. Additionally, countries like Sweden have exceeded their renewable energy targets ahead of schedule, demonstrating that current initiatives are effective in transitioning towards cleaner energy sources.”

In regions prone to extreme weather events, such as coastal areas susceptible to hurricanes, current global actions have helped communities better prepare and respond to climate-related disasters. E.g. Bangladesh, where early warning systems and resilient infrastructure have significantly reduced the loss of life and property damage during cyclones. This demonstrates that while climate change remains a threat, our proactive measures are making a difference in safeguarding vulnerable populations.
